I am surrounded both by natural beauty and interesting people. I use my camera to document the world and then print images with a focus on the magic I find in daily life. My pictures tell my stories.
I was born in Jamaica, New York and was an Eagle Scout at the age of 14. I’m sure that’s where I got my love of the outdoors. I went to Jamaica High School and Hofstra University where I studied engineering, fine arts and philosophy and graduated with honors. I always loved my art and photography but life happened. In 1973 I got a position at the Ideal Toy Company which at that time was one of the largest Toy Companies in the US. I worked my way up and the next 40 years I had various positions managing structural design in departments for companies most notable Union Camp Corporation and International Paper Corporation. I also invented and developed five patents related to my work. Throughout those years I continued with my art in my spare time but I never lost my passion. In 1975 my paintings and wood sculptures were featured in a Gallery in Soho, New York. I never lost my interest in photography, but it always seemed to take a backseat to my day job and my paintings and my sculpture. For many years I was an active member of a camera club in Manhasset, NY where I was awarded the coveted Leonard Victor award from the Photography Federation of Long Island. I retired in 2019 and relocated to Florida where I could totally focus on my passion of photography. Throughout the years I have I have taken many photos of people, landscapes, parades, national parks, lighthouses and wildlife although most of my photos and today are birds, which I have become an expert in. Since moving to Florida I have joined the Audubon and the Audubon Eagle Watch program where I monitor Bald Eagle nests in my area. I simply love taking images of birds in their natural habitats. My website is a testament to that passion, and I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them.
